    Calling all children between the ages of 2 and 7 (and previous students) who would like to prepare for the Spring Special Olympics Games.  Through Young Athletes, a PT from the Troy School District and volunteers will introduce young children to the world of sport by focusing on the basics that are crucial to cognitive development:  physical activities that develop motor skills and hand-eye coordination, and the application of these physical skills through sports skill program.                                                            THIS PROGRAM IS FREE TO ALL - invite friends from your students class to participate.  REGISTRATION IS NOT REQUIRED.  If your child is new, you will be asked to fill out a NEW form for the 2019 year.

    Every month, we get together for food, fun, and dancing with DJ David.  With a different theme every month, there is something for everyone!  Food, games, crafts and dancing.  If your student is GF or has allergies, please let us know.  Make sure you're signed up for our e-blast so you can stay up to date on when these events are happening.

    FEBRUARY 15;  We're celebrating Coneys 4 a CAUSE.  DON'T forget to REGISTER on line $5.00 per person or $10.00 at the door & bring your friends from school and community.

    MARCH 15:  Erin go Bra-ugh - celebrating St Patrick's Day .  Don't forget to wear your GREEN!   

     APRIL 12, (The event will feature quintessential ‘50s fun, including popular music from back in the day, dancing and classic food fare such as hot dogs and an ice cream sundae bar. Participants can dress in poodle skirts, leather jackets and other ‘50s fashion fads if they wish.

    OPEN BOWLING for all of our families (siblings & friends are welcome).   Parents are welcome to bowl too.

    $8.00 per bowler includes 2 games and shoes.

    NO BOWLING 1/27, 2/3 & 2/10.  We will be bowling 2/17, 2/24, 3/3, 3/10 (Daylight Saving Begins), 3/17 (St Patricks Day), 3/24th.

    The DSG bowling from 2-4pm each week.  Please try to be on time so that we can begin on time.  If your bowler is NOT bowling, please email info@dsgsemi.org.  Also, it will help if you have each change in an envelope with your name on it please.

    Challenging behaviors can certainly be part of typical child development, but some behaviors last much longer in some children.  There are many underlying reasons for a behavior that occupational therapists evaluaate and treat.  Join us for an informational presentation to learn more about behavior and what you can do to improve it!

    By attending the workshop, participants can expect to have an understanding of:

    *  The various reasons for behaviors, including sensory processing, motor planning, and regulation - what they are and how they impact behavior

    *  Strategies you can use to address behavior concerns at home

    Inclusion Camp (7-17) & Adult Adventure Camp(Campers, ages 18 and up)

    Trained Counselors & Staff.  While all counselors receive inclusion training, inclusion staff have backgrounds in special education, a related field and/or life experiences that provide them with the skills to care for your camper.  All staff participate in an application, interview and background check process.

    Something for Everyone  Campers are integrated into age-appropriate day camp groups under the direct supervision of professional inclusion staff that provide support when needed.  Inclusion campers have the opportunity to experience all that Cap Ohiyesa has to offer with encouragement from staff and other campers. 

    Transportation is Available from the following locations:  Birmingham, Brighton, Farmington, GM Proving Grounds, Novi and White Lake.

    Join Darlene Garrison, Inclusion Camp Coordinator for an informative evening.  Darlene has been a paraeducator for the past 20 years along with being a coach and director of Special Olympics and the former owner and director of Camp Blue Sky.
